What with Swine flu, the credit crunch, and my very regrettable current inability to drink coffee, I think it’s time for some good news. Lest the depression start to really sink in.

Alastair McCall, editor of the Sunday Times Giving List….  said [that] although the rich had less money than they did a year ago, they were giving more away. “We shouldn’t talk our way into recession,” he said. “The biggest casualties of the credit crunch so far have been the ‘get-rich-quick’ types, who tended to give little to charity.”

Is anyone else tired of treating the economic downturn like a nuclear war, full of doomsday predictions and the feeling that the world is actually ending?

I think it’s time for a little humor.

And while we’re on the subject of humor, no reason to spare religion.

With that, I go back to the reading of charitable law and the writing of fundraising packs.
